HOW TO DRESS YOUR BUMP FOR THE FESTIVE SEASON: 6 TIPS

Growing a bump and looking glam can be a hassle for any mom-to-be. But with these fashion tips we swear by, you're sure to pull it off without breaking a sweat!

FASHION TIP #1: ACCESSORIZE

Invest in some accessories, and you would be surprised how they can make you glow. When it comes to accessories, you have a tall list of items to choose from. Get some jewelry like brooches, earrings, bracelets, bangles, wristwatches and necklaces to complement your look. A handbag, belt or some cool footwear to complete your outfit isn’t a bad idea at all. Thanks to the pandemic, face masks are considered fashion accessories, so get a few stylish ones to wear when you step out of the house. And don’t forget to pick up a few pairs of gloves.

FASHION TIP #2: WRAP UP

You have been wrapping up gifts, now it is time to wrap up your bump – laugh out loud. This festive season, wrap dresses are must-haves for a mom-to-be. Have a couple of them in your wardrobe to perk up your style. These dresses are comfy and versatile and can be worn at any stage of pregnancy. Also, wrap dresses with patterns like stripes, flowers, polka dots in them make you look extra chic and hide the obvious – if you know what we mean.

FASHION TIP #3: PAMPER YOURSELF

Drab looks are so unfashionable and don’t complement outfits, so book a pampering session at a salon. Get your hair done – the usual wash and cut is safe during pregnancy. If you are feeling up to it, get a massage, mani-pedi and facial done for you as well. It also helps to get a DIY Spa kit at home, so you can continue to cultivate your looks during times when you can’t step out of the house or if spas and salons are closed in your country due to COVID-19.

Caution: In countries where salons and spas are closed during the festive season, due to the pandemic, a DIY spa at home is preferable. However, if salons and spas are open in your country, you will need to check on their COVID-19 prevention practices, before you visit.

FASHION TIP #4: GET COMFY

There’s no point in looking all glam at the expense of your comfort. Remember, you are nurturing life in that belly. What affects your body affects your growing baby as well. Keep you and your bump warm – get some long cardis. Waterfall cardi shapes are still in vogue. They are also dressy and flattering for your bulging figure. Do also add some sweaters for variety.

FASHION TIP #5: THINK SEASONAL COLOURS

Trending seasonal colours are red, amber glow, rose tan, green sheen, classic blue, sandstone and ultramarine green. Buy outfits and accessories in any of these colours to look chic.
